Reduced power while on the highway yesterday

Hey everyone,

Driving on the highway in 6th gear (manual trans) my check engine light came on. I didn't notice an immediate difference but then I tried accelerating and power was reduced to about 10% it felt like. I pulled of the highway and it felt like that in all gears. The RPMs would increase normally and the exhaust sounded the same but the car just would not accelerate. After restarting the car everything went back to normal... Ignition coils? Spark plugs? Any idea? Thanks!

It could be many things incl vanos. You need codes.

as Sgop335 said it could be a ton of things my guess would be the VANOS though...happened to me a couple of times then I took it to the dealer and sure enough VANOS was the culprit
