NEED IMMEDIATE HELP: What does "Vehicle Serviced" in Carfax entail?
Found a 2008 335i with 60k miles and clean carfax. Carfax said it was serviced last month but when I checked the car out in person, the corner lights failure light was on, the brake light was on even after handbrake was released, smoke was coming out of the engine on startup and a 2 min drive (looked like the valve cover gaskets was leaking), wastegate rattling and almost no tread left on tires.
My question is, if the car was serviced last month and there are still so many blatant issues, what did they actually service??? Asked for the service/maintenance history but they said they're "working on it"... Will update if I ever get that. |

It just means someone with access to the carfax checked the service box, doesn't mean something was actually done.
You can actually even log your DIY oil changes and other maintenance in carfax. https://www.mycarfax.com/servicehistory Of course you can log the service without actually doing it. |
