Have not seen any evidence as far as durability. I like to maintain the solidity of the car as long as possible. Anyone use the same set of spacers for a few years without any hiccups?

Not sure about the effect of 15mm spacers. When I had 20mm spacers on the rear of my E90, the suspension felt softer, and definitely oversteered more easily.

Nothing. You're way over thinking this.

Spacers adjust the angle of the wheel and the contact patch with the ground, and they damage the suspension. These cars use McPherson style independent suspension, and pushing wheels out beyond their intended parameters can lead to irrepairable damage to your drivetrain. I can't believe all these people on this board running spacers and spouting off about how it's perfectly fine to do. Stay away from spacers, if you wanted wider stance you should have bought an M3.
Btw, everything I just wrote is bullshit, spacers are fine.

LOL, I can relate! if that's the case, do you have any plans on changing the wheels? why not wait until you're ready to purchase a new set w/o the need for spacers?
(p.s. if you buy the spacers, don't forget to buy longer bolts! ) |

I have BMS 12mm spacers and matching bolts on the front of my car with no problems. As long as you're going with a not-huge spacer there's really no ill effects. It's not like a car with wheel studs where you have to do all kinds of messing around trying to get spacers to work. All you do is pop the spacer on the hub, put on the wheel, and put in your wheel bolts same as before. Just make sure you use the correct length bolts to match the spacers.

Don't need the additional weight. I like my base wheels with non rft except for the offset.

I saved 14lbs per corner switching to aftermarket wheels. Same diameter and they're also wider. 56lbs total static. Also rotational unsprung weight.

Interesting. I assumed the OEM rims were middle weights, but shaving off 14lbs per wheel with wider rims sounds very enticing. Interested what size and type of rims you got. Are they solid? Mine are spotless and like how easy it is to clean them.
