Compressor fan not running
Hey guys I am hoping I can get some help here. I have been searching and not finding anything so I hope I just didn't miss something. Here is the story...07 E92
AC stopped working so we tried the quick fix with with a refill...worked for about a day so we started looking for a bigger problem Found leak in the AC pressure line so we ordered one and started to replace it. Sadly I forgot to unhook the battery and had a pretty big spark from my ratchet to the positive battery cable thats by the AC pressure line. No codes popped up so I thought everything was good. Went to my friends shop where we pulled a vacuum on the system and recharged it to spec. Car hold good vacuum but no cold air coming out. Turns out now the fan for the compressor isn't turning anymore at all when the AC is running but it was definitely working before my lovely sparking incident. The fan itself is not dead because it does turn on after I let the car sit and idle for a while to see if it would cool it down which i does. Does anyone know if there is a fuse or relay that controls the fan for the AC separately? I looked under the hood and only saw one relay but I am not certain what it controls. I "think" it controls the secondary air pump which may turn that fan? Any help would be greatly appreciated guys..thanks! |
