1st Official Dinan 1/4 mile time!!

Sorry for getting home so late fellaz but Wed. night drags at infineon is pretty packed. Got to the track with 1/4 tank of 100 octane. I have an 08 step with about 1300 miles and a drop-in bmc filter as the only mod. Also, I am running on the stock michelin rfts. Here is the first run of the day. All I did was turn off dsc/dtc and floor it in DS mode, no paddles. The track was prepped pretty good, but the usual headwind and incline at the end of the track gave me these preliminary numbers.

60'------2.066
330'-----5.584
1/8------8.477
MPH-----85.11
1000-----10.964
1/4-------13.065
MPH------107.25

That was at 59 degrees. So an hour later at about 57 degrees. I decided to use paddles and DTC only and try to launch at about 1500rpms. Here are the results with a little chirp. I shifted at 6500 all the way through except the end.

60'------2.039
330'-----5.530
1/8------8.402
MPH-----85.73
1000-----10.878
1/4-------12.978
MPH------107.61

Got a couple other runs in but at low 50 degrees, it was wheel spin city. I even tried to launch at 2000 rpms and got a 2.4. These runflats dont like the cold. I could definitely feel that the party was over after 6200 rpms. So I think that shifting with paddles and limiting the launch if your on runflats will probably get some better times. At Sac, this would be like a 12.80 at 109, but they dont prep the track as nice as Sears Point. Anyways, Im tired. It was really fun, and so many people were giving the only 335i there props. They were stupified by the times. Lets see some more Dinan times cuz I suck pretty bad. Laterz. BTW, Honestly, I dont think the 100 octane made a big difference.

Honostly these times are decent, but for the difference in price they are VERY similar to SSTT. But good times none the less.

Is Wednesday night at Infineon a bracket drag race? How does it work? What time do you have to arrive and how many runs can you get? Thanks.

Hey I was there with my 335i, too! I just drove there from work with about 300 lbs worth of crap in the car and a full tank of gas (91 octane -I did not intend on going but just happened to be driving by Infinon on a Wed, so why not).

With V2 it was a crappy 13.3 at 103 MPH. Ifelt like it was dying more than usual on the high end. The head wind was probably 20 mph today, so that could have affected the trap speed.

With a few more runs and 100 octane I am sure it would have been a lot better. I only had time for 1 run

I am pretty impressed with the Dinan given those conditions. There is something so be said for that warranty and additional Dinan develp!

Decent ET; congrats! Your 1/4 mi. Trap Speed shows similarity w/ PROcede v1.47. So, based on this very small sample (1 ), I'd say that the Dinan ECU Flash doesn't have as much power as PROcede v2, but it has similar power to PROcede v1.47 (maybe a bit more?), which is what many ppl figured...not that there's anything wrong with that...pretty decent in fact. I'm glad the OP had lots of fun...that's what it's all about. Again, great job...congrats!!!!

Almost there, BUT a V2 ran a 13.3 on the same track/same night
I suppose the drama continues

I think it weird to see that on the same night and same track a V2 posted a 13.3 while the Dinan was able to pull a 12.9.

I know its alot about the driver as well.

You guys think with better rubber he can get down the the mid 12's??

I think with slicks and stalling the the speed up on the launch you would be able to knock a couple tenths off the ET. If you watch the fast Buick Grand Nationals when they drag, they are launching at 4000+ with a transbrake. You can hear the turbo spool up while there still on the line, so they're already getting a ton of boost. Same issue with these turbo cars, you need to get into the power band quicker. The slicks would stop the wheel spin from the extra torque of a higher launch RPM and get you down the track quicker.

Thanks guys. Wednesday night drags is brackets after about 7:00 where you dial in a time and try to beat the next guy without breaking your dial time. Your'e also disqualified if you dont have a helmet for 13s or lower. You need to get there at about 3 when the gates open because traffic out of the city is nuts. Youll get about 5 runs. There was an 8-10 car pile up that closed the Golden Gate yesterday, so we had to take another route. I didn't see the V2 car's run but if it was later in the night, I can understand the 13.3. E.T is all about the 60', so there was definitely room for improvement.
