Beware - ECS uses FedEx SmartPost
I'm currently waiting (Aug 17th) on a part that was shipped from ECS in Ohio on the 8th.
On August 12th it was litterally ~15 miles from my house in Lydhurst, VA when FedEx transferred the package to the USPS. At that point it went back to Maryland and now was last scanned in Warrendale, PA. Now I can understand shipping issues. But this is the second time this happened. I called ECS at 830am this morning and was basically told it was not their fault and they couldn't do anything about it. Honestly, I was and still am seriously not happy. Is this the way you treat your customers? You couldn't offer to overnight me another part? I use to think ECS was one of the better parts places. I am seriously revising that opinion at this point. |

Never ever use fed ex if in the Canada ... Literally I got a invoice from injectors I ordered a month ago from someone on the forums. Paid 460 for the injectors and got dinged 150 bucks in taxes and fees... Phoned up fed ex and said what's this?? I'm not paying a 50 dollar out fee and 3 dollar something or other plus a 10 dollar fee .. Duty and taxes I had no choice as I guess the guy who sent them filled out a form saying the costs of everything and what they were.. They waived 63 bucks but I still had to pay taxes and duty.. USPS I've never paid a dime.. That includes used exhaust etc.. This was 3 injectors in a small box. Fed ex is a joke...

Oh and to keep on topic , esc tuning shipping to Canada is more than the items I'm buying usually.. Not sure how they get there shipping quotes but it seems like it's the eBay trick of cheaper sale price back door shipping mark up.

Wow... this is bordering on ludicrous now. It finally got back to Sandston, VA which is the sorting facility that packages coming to me hit normally before getting to the local post office.
But no... the package heads off to Farmville, VA!!! JFC... what is wrong with the address label on this package? At this point, I'm going to have to go to a dealership to get the bulb so I can put it in this weekend so I can get the vehicle inspected next weekend. |

Go with Fcpeuro next time. They have lifetime warranty on all they're parts and they're located in ct, I choose the cheapest shipping option and get all my parts within 2 days. I'm in ny. They also price match

I just reviewed the tracking. This one might set a new record for terrible shipping paths. Personally I've been less and less impressed with the FedEx - No Rush (which is smartpost based) shipping option, this is another strike against it in my book. Unlike myself and several of yall, many of our customers are loving this ultra budget (free in most cases) shipping option, so it's not going away.
If parts are needed in a finite period of time I always suggest FedEx or UPS ground (NOT the "No Rush - Ground Economy" which is SmartPost based) shipping options. These are always the most predictable and reliable shipping options. -James |

My ECS Tuning orders arrive on time, every time. Only place I order from. The Postal system is screwed, not ECS Tuning fault.

I've been in PM contact with the ECS Rep here and I think they understand the frustration level I was experiencing watch this part tour the mid-Atlantic region. |

Not sure what's up with that recent guy but yeah.. I mean you (are supposed to) get what you pay for. Free shipping might take a little while. If you need something by a certain day, pay for it.
ECS is good. |

Thanks James, I sent you a PM. Yea I’ve exclusively used ECS with no problems until this one. Just my luck that they screwed up my first time sensitive order. I guess I’m spoiled by Amazons accurate shipping quotes.
Aside from actually providing the shipping the customer paid for, I think ECS should stop using smart post all together. The frustration it causes customers to watch their package bounce all over the country isn’t worth it in the long term. Find another way to cut cost that’s invisible to the customer. With that said, I’ll probably continue to use ECS but now I feel compelled to call after I order to make sure they don’t screw it up. |

It literally takes an extra 2-4 days on average for something to arrive to me via smartpost compared to ground, very annoying. The free shipping is usually automatically smartpost correct, is there a way to get the free shipping and choose ground?

Usually the difference between smartpost and the next speed up, is a few dollars. I'd gladly pay $3 more to get it 5-10 days before smartpost! I've used it once, and it took almost a month for the item to get to me. Never again..

LOL My current order with ECS using smartpost is going to take over 10 days from order date to arrival, IF fedex/usps don't find a way to screw it up.

In the past, I ordered from ECS. I am in the Chicagoland area so typically orders would be 2 days from them. Last fall I was surprised to see smart post the first time I didn't get my package quickly. I think it took a full week to get to me. I had plans to do the repair the weekend after I ordered the part. I had to wait until the following week due to the longer shipping time.
That delay forced me to shop other vendor prices and ship times. My last two orders were not placed with ECS. I will still check them out when I need stuff. But I do take that into account. Just some feedback from a customer. I also ship a lot of USPS every day at my job. We have good luck with 95% of our packages. But there are times the package makes a long ride to its destination. Or sits in one place for days. So I know what it means when shipping with USPS. |
