Thanks for the download links - however, I didn't find licence.txt or RCleanerV4.3.exe in the download. Could you provide them?
Edit: Oops. There they are!! Duh! Last edited by dpaul; 08-24-2016 at 02:40 PM.. |

Sorry for the newbie question. But essentially I wouldn't need to buy anything but the cables from rheingold? I just bought there ista d kit with the kdcan cable, e net cable and ista d software on that jump drive. So I assume I can just download the ista p software for free and not bother buying ista p from them?
Sorry for the retarded questions, but this is all new to me... |

You can buy the cables in a number of places.
The links to the better ones are in the coding subforum sections. The setups to quite a few different programs can be found on the coding subform here and other coding websites and car tech websites. The one stop cable is often quoted as being the best on the local coding subforum here. Some claim you actually need a icom cable for some stuff I have ista d and Inpa, edibas ncsexpert running on simple k can cable because its an 06 car. see http://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=368 Last edited by ctuna; 12-11-2016 at 05:09 AM.. |

Hey thanks for the info. I have the cables from Rhiengold and bought ista/d. However my question remains unanswered. Can I just download ista/p above for free instead of buying it from rhiendgold?

Well it's the same software as eyeing old ista/p isn't it? Heck idiots free why not. As long as there is no difference.....I thought ista/p is the coding software.... Ah too much to learn. I've been under the coding page and reading.

You have to keep the daten files and the database uptodate
if you want the latest stuff. They at least should be at or exceed the current i-level of your car. |

Thanks for your help. It sounds like it's going to save me an additional $100 for ista/p vs. having to buy it from rhiengold.
It is a lot to learn and the coding section does not offer once concise location for beginners in diagnostics and coding/programming. I wish there was clarity since it seems like there are a lot of platforms and termonolgy to learn! |

Also if you are going to update the car you need a large
regulated power supply to keep it on during the process. I don't see the need to really update it as the changes in software tend to be small ones. |

Thanks for that info. I did see that when searching around. Makes sense. These things can consume some power. Luckily I bought a battery tender for the winter. I'll just make sure it's all plugged in and had the battery completely charged before I go in and perform my settings. This will sure be a steep learning curve on how to use the software too. But it'll be worth it once I get it down. Thank you again for all of your insight.

I think its pretty simple with ista p its designed to be
simple but it can take several hours and there have been warnings the current draw is significant. They are specifying a 50amp regulated supply to do this. |

Error
Hi,
Im getting this error after running ISTAGUI.exe: The connection to one of the required databases could not be established. Please check DSS #00046632EN for further trouble shooting. Does it require network connection? EDIT: so I understand that this is not important at all. But I have another problem: I get fault codes and milage but no descriptions. Should there be descriptions for the fault codes? Thanks! Last edited by Juss1; 12-19-2016 at 04:26 AM.. |
