New Member - Bay Area - Any locals with PPK, PE, or the Alpina Transmission Flash?

Hello everyone!

New member, just picked up a 2011 e90 335i Msport 6AT and love the car! The forums have been very helpful and a great resource for any problems and mods.

I wanted to shoot a quick request to the local Bay Area members and see if anyone has any of the OEM performance upgrades from BMW (PPK and/or Performance Exhaust), or the Alpina Transmission flash (not BMW i know). Would love to experience these in person if anybody is willing to meet up.

I am mainly looking for BMW upgrades because I am still under 2 more years of warranty and don't need too much power. Some extra sound would be a nice touch to the car.

Also thinking about the Alpina B3 transmission update. I have driven an F10 with the ZF8 and I was looking to get somewhere close to that experience. The shifts now are a bit jerky under 3-4k RPM and downshifts are definitely laggy. Would like to see how big of a difference this update makes.

Thanks in advance!

Cobb Tune is good instead of PPK.
You can remove the tune before you go in for warranty work.
I did that through regular warranty, CPO and an aftermarket. Never a peep.
Cobb works very well. Plug in and upgrade. 20 minutes to install/remove.

Can't help you on the transmission flash.

Appreciate the responses, I will contact him when ready. I really wanted to see if I could try it on another car before committing to a tune.

What do you mean?

The transmission flash or the Cobb.
PPK is expensive for what you get. The upside is that you don't need to worry about removal, etc. I have never driven a car with the PPK. Does your car have the sport package? If not, the dealer cannot install the PPK. You need to have an oil cooler.

I would like to try either the transmission flash or the PPK. I do have the M Sport package with the oil cooler.

I know the exact one you're talking about. That was out of my budget and he wasn't willing to budge on the price. I picked up an auto instead in titanium silver

Both very different.
Tune affects the performance of the car. The flash affects how the car shifts.
I think they are very independent.
Don't have the flash but I have Cobb tunes.

I understand that they are different and independent upgrades. I am just looking for locals who have performed either of the mods so I can try them out before I do either the tune or the flash.

Hopefully you're able to find someone already running a 335i with the exact specs you're thinking of doing for your own. Seems like too many replies on where to get things vs someone actually offering to meet up and give you an in person experience of the parts. Good Luck OP.
