Hi,

I installed my AA Active Processor today. It's my third piggyback after the PROcede V1 / V2 and the BMS JB2H.

Installation:

The AA Active Processor comes with everything you need for the installation except tools. You even get heat shrink hoses to protect / isolate the intercepted wires. The installation manual is complete and correct. Installation itself is pretty straight forward. Power connection: The AA Active Processor wakes up and falls to sleep together with the ECU.

As every time when I work inside the ECU box I disconnected the car's battery during installation.

First engine start:

The engine starts and a fan starts to work very loud. At this time, just shut down the engine and start it again. After that you are fine and the fan will behave normal again.

First drive:

I drove carefully warming up the engine and listened whether I hear something unusual - nothing, everyting fine. The engine seems to run perfect. After that I drove some more spirited ( increased step by step ) and ended up accelerating a couple of times up to 6.500 rpm / WOT to get a first impression about the tuning. I did not want to let the steptronic shift at redline after only a couple of miles. I say: My compliments, AA ! This tune is great, IMO. The 14.5 psi max is PEAK BOOST. Today I saw boost up to 12.5 psi and boost spikes up to 13.6 psi and I am pretty sure once the car has adapted and the ambient temperatures will raise I will see 13.0 - 13.5 psi.

Next steps:

Let the car adapt ( at least 1 week ), read whether there are errors stored in the ECU's memory and perform a dyno. My e93 is an otherwise nearly stock car ( Forge DV's ). After that I will install the AA SLD, the Spearco FMIC and the RISS DP's, one after the other. The reason for the step by step installation is to know, which component causes issues if any. So finding the cause in case of problems will be easy.

First Impressions and target:

Very nice tune, a bit stronger than a JB2H, very nice torque delivery. I think that the FMIC, DP's ( catted or catless is not decided yet ) and probably SS mufflers will provide minimum additional 15-20 whp / 15-30 wtq. So I can achieve 400+ hp, 530+ NM ( numbers are crank ) without a special map keeping the ability to use 91 octane AKI gas ( when I can't get better gas ) and keeping everything pretty reliable. A nice daily driver I ever wanted to have with this car. A no-brainer.

the readings from the processor, how you managed this? Left a usb wire outside the ecu box? I' m in the process of installing mine but broke the t-joint when pulling the vacuum hose.

Just install according to the installation instructions of AA. You find them on the AA website. The MAP sensor connection of the AA Active Processor is not used on the 335i. If you want, let an USB cable hang out of the ECU box. I will connect it when I need it.

Thanks, I will dyno it before FMIC installation, so in max. 3-4 weeks.

Thank you. When JC will have a shark injector for the 335i it would be a sin to don't try it out. I have no plans with the Attaché currently.

I was going to get the AA but got Procede instead.

I knew I should've went with AA, but whatever.

335 turned out to be like one of my old s2000's a money pit.

O.K. I'm done with the 335.

Hope you like the AA tune, if you get the exhaust you will see 420 actual hp.

Everybody has different reasons why she/he prefers a product. There are different tunings around and everybody has to make her / his own decision based on personal preferences.

Procede is great.

However, maybe my car hasn't adapted too well to it.

To be more clear on my post. As far as power delivery and smoothness, what are your impressions comparing the two.

Maybe my procede lacks more mods, and it will respond better.

But on the ecu itself / comparing the AA and Procede just based on the ecu. Which do you like better.

B/C I "was" going to get AA

I'm not smart enough to tweak my Procede like I've seen others do on the forum

It's a must that I will have no errors stored in the ECU with the AA Active Processor. Once achieved ( max. 2 weeks ), I will install the SLD. I don't want to mix up anything.

About flat out 32 breaking the t joint. i watch the procede install vido and they don't remove it from the t joint but rather from the connecting hose and then connect another coupler. Maybe the t joint is too delicate. Any thoughts?

Did you install the switch? Not sure if I really need it...fuel consumption shouldn't be a problem. I do like the idea of switching power "ON"!

No idea. I expect a very simple map loading software. Currently AA does not provide a graphical software interface for data logging and device maintenance.

I read the errors ( if any ) at the BMW dealership using the diagnostic computer & software. I did not install the switch, for me this is a great failsafe feature for water/meth injection systems running out of juice ... .
