Tesla P100D
The new Tesla P100 D will do 0 to 60 in 2.5 seconds. Are there any Tesla fans out there who will purchase this car? Here are the specs: http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/tesla/m...world-revealed

After my M6's leases up in the US by the end of next year, I plan on getting the Model X, and whatever the top of the line package they have at that time.

I saw the first Model X that came into Europe at Le Mans and as much as I despise this bed-wetting, tree hugging environmental nonsense, the interior looked like a Bentley and for a six-seater family SUV that can go very fast in a straight line, it did look awesome. Hope they put in enough strength in the shell for all those out their who don't know what to do when the road is no longer straight !

The 315mile range if it is in fact 315miles and not below that will make it a very tempting alternative IF they also took care of their awful interior quality.
As of right now my next car will definitely be the next B7 |

The Tesla's are so slow over 100mph though - not that we should be going that fast. Look at their trap speeds, an M5/M6 traps 5-8mph faster than the Tesla.

honestly i cannot justify spending $150K on a car which will not get you past the city limits if driven with heavy foot.. their range numbers like any MPG are likely attained by best possible condition/driving.. not by 2.5 sec 0-60 launches or WOT passes that i at least do regularly with the M every opportunity i get :-) now if the range could be in the upper 200's with variable type of driving, including above mentioned.. then it would make for a great daily my wife could drive once kids are older and for me to abuse when i go towards Starbucks..

I just built a fully loaded one--- 2100 plus a month here in Cali. I just don't know if its worth that for what it brings to the table.

No options just base deals - Model S 60 - $664 a month lease with 12k miles per year - range of 218 Model S P100D - $1873 a month lease with 12k miles per year - range of 315 Not seeing the P100D being worth the 3x payment. Edit - When going from a base 3 series to top of the line M3, there are a large number of changes (exterior, interior, brakes, suspension, engine), then from S 60 to P100D, seems like range and acceleration only or am I missing a long list of upgrades?

We test drove the P85D and it was awesome BUT - I just can't get past the range issue no matter how I try to "rationalize." I also have trouble with the "bang for the buck."
The other issue involves quality - my ex bought one (two-wheel drive unit) and within two months had to have the motor replaced. I know that kind of thing can happen with ANY car but It makes me uneasy. Just my 2 cents. Right now we're in the process of trying to find a replacement for our 2013 328i and it's driving me nuts! The 315 Mile range is BS actually. I have friends who say if you drive normal highway speeds, maybe you'll get it, but doing 80, the range goes down significantly
