DBA T3 Slotted 4000 vs 5000 series rotors
Time to change out the front rotors
I'm looking at the DBA 4000 and 5000 series for my E90. I do not have any immediate plans to track the car but I do give those brakes a hard time (I’m pretty sure I have warped my current set). I already have a set of the akebono pads ready to go. Would appreciate peoples thoughts on the 5000 series being worth the extra $150 per rotor Thanks Dyll |

It's a different car, but I run 4000 series kangaroo paw slotted rotors on my e36 with hard core track pads, and after 5 years of track days (about 15-20 days), hardly any wear/lipping, and only just starting to see little surface spider cracks, but nothing serious.
Like I said, different car and weight, etc, but can certainly vouch for the 4000s holding up to regular track work. I'll buy them again when required. |

I have read on a few of the US forums about people complaining about warping and noise from the 4000 series, but this may be unfounded |

It was a old topic I spoke with DBA a few months back and I know they are working on some coating called En-Shield to stop the surface rust on the slots and cross drilled rotors keeping them nice and shiny, constantly improving the design |

I am running DBA Club Spec T3 4000 Series rotors and have had no issues with them. They stop me with no problems from 125mph at the drags. I had them on my G6E turbo Falcon and likewise had no issues stopping it at 126mph at the drags. I certainly would recommend them.

I guess another point to add with the 5000 series is that they are 2 piece with a aluminium reusable hat so there is considerable weight savings to be gained there for only another 160 cost per rotor |

I think your on the money EB89, That was a really good price
The other quotes I received were between $265 to $322 per front rotor I cant make my mind up on which series though, the 5000 series for $343 is damn good price other quotes have been up to $528 a piece. |
