2009 e90, 328i Sport package, 80k miles.
I've done the following:

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 NON- RFT all around

Bilstein B6 mated to original sport springs

New OEM shock/strut mounts all around

Still rides like a wooden platform on shitty roads, crashes and hoppy in back.

Live in NYC, and the ride is harsh and crashy still, especially in the rear.
Pregnant wife hates the ride...

What more can I do?
Considering an Audi....they just ride better.

Tell wife to get her own car and stop bitching.. She can always take the bus, or subway..

Consider new wife who is less demanding. Or drop her of in Somalia or Iraq for a few months..

You couldn't possibly be married!!

Two cars in Brooklyn is impossible, and I can only have one car at a time.

I hear ya!
Love wife. Love car. Love wife more...
Car is paid for, and nice to drive, especially since it's a 6-speed, but the ride is a bit of a cringing pain, even for me at times. I feel like my interior will fall apart the roads are so bad here...

Won't be in NYC forever either...

The roads must be insanely bad. my 330i sport suspension is pretty forgiving, and some of the roads by my house are practically unpaved. But maybe I just got used to my E30's suspension, which actually hurts my wife to ride in. lol.

how about trying the Koni FSDs?

I'm not sure what much could be done with the E9x Suspension to make it softer. Generally it is pretty stiff all around. Add NYC Brooklyn roads to the mix and it gets pretty unforgiving.

If this is something that just started happening (wife complaining) Then a refresh of the Suspension is in order. Especially Bushings/ mounts etc.

Don't bother as they will only make the ride harsher.

Trade in BMW for Lexus as you can't remedy the issue sufficiently enough for wife to stop complaining.
In fact it might back fire as you will throw money at the issue and in her eyes the improvement would be negligible, which would actually be very true.

Use B4s instead. The B6s are too stiff for poor road conditions IMO.

Switch to 17's with more tire to soften the ride.

It's on 17" already, so 16" or 15" perhaps to come in rescue!

Won't get much better in NYC, short of buying an SUV.

As aggressive as I am with avoiding potholes, the last time I drove the 335 there was the reason I had to buy new suspension. Now, the only vehicle that sees NYC is the MDX.

If you can stretch to Ohlins Road and Track (set to max soft) you'll be amazed at the ride quality...

The B6 is the wrong shock for a car with short springs.
The B6 is the regular sized shock and with lowering springs (sport package) the shock becomes preloaded and compressed.

The correct shock for a sport package car is the B8. It's shorter with the same valving as the B6. I think your problem is with the shock choice. I do not have that issue wth sport package springs on my 335 and B8 shocks.

YMMV but Bilstein thinks the B8 is the correct shock for a sport packaged car.
