PS3 vs 360
Now I have had the PS3 for a day, I thought I'd jot down my thoughts.
PS3 pros Very quiet. Plays BLURAY. Interfaces with Bluetooth devices incl headsets/mice/keyboards etc. You can install another Operating System on it - it's an option on the sony menu's. Has Wireless built in and can be used as an ad hoc connection for the PSP etc. I can turn on my PS3 anywhere in the world through my PSP - this allows me access to any video/music/photo etc I have shared through the PS3 - In my case - this means access to my media center PC. Controller has "wii" like functions for tilt etc in games. Supposed to be very reliable. CONS Not many games. This is extremely apparent when you have a 360 aswell as I have all the games that are out that I would of bought (for the PS3) if I didn't have a 360. Poor menu system. Its the same as the PSP. This works well on the psp but just doesn't cut it on todays massive HD sets. Controller has no vibrate function and is too small. Online system is poor. Have to "install" demos etc.. You also have lots of legal acceptance screens on nearly everything. No backwards compatability for PS2 games 360 pro's Lots of great games to play. A fantastic online system - beautifully integrated into the experience. Controller is great - the triggers are miles better than the PS3 equivalents. Achievements - whoever thought of this deserves a medal. Backwards compatible with some xbox titles Smaller than the PS3 and IMO - looks better. Great Media Center Extender. 360 Cons VERY LOUD!!!! Very Unreliable Lost the HD battle

It's all about preference. There are so many fanboys that get involved with arguing between which is better that I personally hate debating about this subject.

one main reason I got a 360 is the controller
you pay over $300 for a system and Sony gives you this shitty controller from the 1990s.....ftl i dont care about the blueray...this is a game consule

You mean 360 = Forza2?
GT5 has better graphics and thats it. Forza2 is a better car simulator on all aspects of physics. The only thing that really narks me about Forza is you touch the grass/etc - its like hitting a wall!!! I suppose it's more realistic than just carrying on regardless a la GT5 - You can wallride to your hearts content on GT5 - no problemo!

The reason you have a console is to play games, no more, no less. Operating system? Buy a computer. At this point in time 360 has a better game selection, but PS3 has the hardware advantage to potentially have a better game repertoire in the future. Now, 360 is the better console, in the future I can't say, but PS3 has finally started to get on track. This is all a moot point anyway because Wii has the best games of them all. Fuck Halo 3, SSBB 4tmfw.

You must have got the 40gb if you have no backwards capability with ps2 games. If you got the 80gb you would have that. Also there is a rumble controller coming very soon. Don't worry you picked up a ps3 at a good time. It has alot of games coming soon. There are some good exclusives to the system right now also. I changed my mind. I used to like Forza 2 more because it was more realistic, but I just pulled out my steering wheel and pedals and tried to play again yesterday and decided that I now hate the game.
I built up an E46 M3 and couldn't keep it around the track fast for more than a couple of laps before it would understeer into the grass or a wall. I'm switching to the GT5 camp so I can play an easy game! |

360 came out longer than PS3 so it should have more games... but PS3 will always get more exclusives (especially Japanese games). I like PS controller better because I am used to it since PS1 (even SNES had similar controller). If I am playing a computer game it would mostly be on my PC.

I was in town and saw a Ferrari Challenge game on the preorder stand - looked promising - PS3 only?

Bad OP! This topic will lead to nothing good!
By the way, the Gran Turismo series has long been considered the most realistic racing game out there, with the exception of car damage (which I understand will be incorporated into the full GT5 game). Polyphony Digital pride themselves on making the most realistic driving simulator ever and many people seem to agree, including the F1 drivers that actually train using the game! I am not putting down Forza2--it is a fun game--but it has a LONG way to go before it can claim to be a more realistic driving game than Gran Turismo "in all aspects".

Haha, yeah, Forza 2 blows GT away in realism. The only thing GT is more real about is the fact that it looks more real. Whoopie. I'd much rather the realism of driving than pretty graphics.
