What methonal for cleaning only?

I'm not interested in more power (have 2+ coming soon) or more MPG. I had meth in my truck and after awhile, the filling and cost was a pain. It was a Snow system that injected based on boost and EGT.
This go around I'd like to just use a simple system to keep things clean.
How long will the washer tank last? My truck would blow through 5 gallons easy in a tank of fuel. On trips across the states I had to carry 10 gallons behind the seats, fill the 5 gallon reservoir, etc. total pain.

If I do an EGR block, why would there be a need to keep the intake clean? With my Jetta TDI after EGR delete plugging the intake was not a concern? If soot is not there (no egr) to mix with oil to form tar to plug the intake, why do we have to clean on a 335d?

I definitely know what you mean about meth and a "truck" being a pain. I recently did the same setup on my friends and he does have a love/hate relationship considering the truck uses so much injection in such a short period of time.

On the 335d though it's a little different. Unless your just mad man across the city you shouldn't use much meth. Install a switch that will disarm the system while you aren't in need of it (I see this being very important).

With the power I'm currently running there is not a chance I can keep mine on all the time. I'd get way too many speeding tickets. WOT rips with meth gets me to 100mph within a few blinks, not necessary. Mine is only armed when racing or when I'm doing my monthly cbu "water cleaning".

As for is it absolutely needed for cbu prevention?? No. Basic deletions should be okay. I don't even have a catch can....

Are you the fellow I talked to at BPC last Friday? My meth system puts a smile on my face daily. It is two stage and it really transforms the car. The first stage comes on with about 1/4 throttle application and really perks the car up. It is right at the limit of traction and really fun. The car doesn't smoke much at the first stage, it seems to like it! Second stage is a smokey balls to the wall experience. Kydiesel is right about speeds, this car can land you in jail very quickly (if they can catch you). I find I use about a gallon of 50/50 mix every 1000 miles and it makes me happy knowing I am cleaning my intake.

The real reason one needs meth on these cars is the fact that the turbos, and ccv system, put a lot of oil into the intake tract. With an EGR delete the soot is eliminated, but the oil is still present.

Dump your CCV to the atmosphere (Or catch can). Unless you're running meth all the time, it's not going to clean a thing.

I used to go through about a gallon a week of the stuff, so then I installed a switch and only keep it armed when I feel like spraying.

I looked into my intake after a few gallons of injection and it was pretty clean.

If you set it to come on around 17psi it'll be fine for moderate consumption. The progressive controllers have a compounding effect of spray because as you inject, the turbos spool more and more.

I run mine non-switched (always armed), go through a washer reservoir about every month to month and a half. I dont drive crazy so it lasts for a while.

That sounds like a decent consumption rate. What do you use (details)? If my driving holds true to my Jetta, I'll be at about 3,000 miles a month.

Anyone have a decent boost gauge setup to monitor? Strange that all my diesels, trucks and cars, never have gages.

If I go with Snow again, it has a progressive setup and boost gage built in. Then again, I'd have to find a place to mount the controller since my dash already has the BMW GPS, my phone, my radar detector. Getting crowded.

It's a kit that doesn't exist anymore. Basically progressive off boost, 800ml.
