Still need my alloys repaired.
Ok - I'm running out of options now. I've tried a few places and have had no response so far. Anyone have any ideas of who I could contact to have my 19" BBS repaired. Two of them have very bad curb rash
I'd really like these sorted out before the next meet. I'm in York so have no problem travelling to Leeds/Hull areas etc.

Get yourself a courier sorted and get them here
I have seen many examples of their work (not all mine, I'm not a serial wheel curber!!) and have always been impressed. My 3 piece Ferrari wheel was sent there when I had an argument with a curb (and lost) having spun on oil - see below. It came back as good as new. Fortunately I've not curbed a wheel since then but if I do, that's where they'll go to be done (that's where the 225M's will be going if I can't get the brake dust that's pitted-in, out)

You might try http://www.selbys.co.uk/ in Nottingham, what I've seen them do to 911 Rear wheels (commonly smack hard against kerbs) is more than impressive.

Try phoning your local BMW dealer and ask who they use for refurbs on cars they take into stock. That's what I did with MB and they were happy to help.

Sorry Paul. But I thought it better that people were aware of the level of work necessary before they suggest someone with a bit of emery paper and a spraycan!

Paul, there's a place in Northallerton.
Fenwick Alloy Wheel Refurbishing Centre Unit 4A Gaskell Close Standard Way Industrial Estate Northallerton, North Yorkshire DL6 2XE 08000 288911 www.alloywheelrefurbishing.co.uk I've seen their work and their facility and they seem rather good. Their brochure states that all work is guaranteed and fully insured. You're pretty close so it might be worth your while to take it up there. At worst you're out the time and gas, oops, diesel, for the trip. They quoted £50+VAT a wheel for what I need done to a set (and that was extensive).

They can be repaired by getting a good re-ferber to TIG weld new ally onto the rim, and then re-profiling the rim again on a lathe. Topped off with a polish or powder coat.

I managed to kerb my offside rear 225M alloy a few weeks ago, and considered buying a new wheel (£500!!) before finding 'Pristine Wheels'. Firms recommended by others here may be a better bet due to geography, but I can heartily recommend Pristine for the quality of work - excellent colour match, and decent value at £106 all in.
They are in Woburn Sands, Bedfordshire. PS: I have no connection with Pristine (or any other wheel refurbisher for that matter!).

Well I've tried fenwick.... again and still no reply - maybe they don't read their emails? Looks like I'll have to resort to actually using the phone.
I tend to only email.

Paul have you got your alloys sorted yet? As guess what - yesterday I scuffed my nearside front alloy Some prat up too close and I had to park quickly - obviously I got too close to the friggin kerb. Thankfully, it is only a scuff.
Anyhow, got in touch with the bloke who did my bonnet stone chips and he also does alloy wheel repairs. If he's any good, I could give you his number and check whether he'll travel to York? |

I thought I was going to have the record for quickest curb rash on Friday. I put my summer tires on last Sunday and crunched a curb on Friday on Foss Island Road in York with 34 miles on the rims. Muttering loudly to myself, I got out and fortunately found nothing. I have no idea what caused the sound. There doesn't appear to be any scrapes on either the rims or the bumper.
Good luck with your repairs Helen and Paul.

Booked in with Fenwicks so they can quote this Sat.
I'm guessing between £50 and £100 a wheel?
