I'm getting a weird ticking noise coming from the engine that is pretty noticeable with the hood closed and pretty loud with the hood open. I'm not sure if this is normal or could be something else. I installed my JB4 and started using E85 on Friday (2 days ago) and have been running E40 on Map 7 since. Not sure if that has anything to do with it but any ideas of what is could be or is it normal?

My modifications are listed below.

- BMS JB4 Stage 2 ISO G5
- E40
- VRSF DP
- VRSF 7" FMIC
- Evolution Racewerkz CP
- Injen Cold Air Intake

Is it only on cold start? Or happens both hot and cold. Could be your cam lobes making that noise. I changed my oil viscosity and my ticking went away. But it was pretty faint so not sure if this could be your issue. Did you change oils? What's the recent maintenance been like.

when the car is warm and just in idle, shift in neutral and handbrake up.. my maintenance has been good, and my engine oil level is green, it's not max but the bar is pretty much full. When I'm driving I'm not sure if it goes away but as soon as I come to a light or stop you can hear it from the outside, I'm just worried it has something to do with my injectors or the valvetronic, but my car is throwing no codes so idk, I'm yet to start my car up today but I'll get a video and post it later of the sound if it continues.

I've read that the ticking is a normal problem and kinda just goes away on it's own and I'm really hoping that's the case here, cause my warrant just expired last week

Could be injectors going bad, the noise it makes is pretty loud. I would definitely get the car scanned for codes. There might not be a "check engine light" but there are ghost codes that the ECU keeps until it's cleared by a scanner. Anything weird looking in the oil on last oil change? Shavings? It could be your tensioner, losing slack and making a tick noise. It's pretty hard to find a cause when trying to diagnose over the Internet

Car is throwing no codes, plugged the Cobb into the OBD and read the codes, nothing popped up, cleared the codes anyway, even though nothing was showing up. I went to record a video, the next morning and the noise was gone. Weird.
