4/32" tread left on rear tires

Hi,

I was at Americas Tire a few days ago and the guy measured my rear tires to have 4/32" tread left, but I forgot to ask him approximately how many miles I could go before they need to be replaced.

Does anyone approximately how many more miles can I go?

Thanks in advance!

Your best bet would be to take the mileage you have driven since the tires were put on and divide it by how many 32"nds of tread you have used. (Starting tread depth i.e. 10/32"nd's minus what you have left 4/32" = 6/32" used- example only).

Say you drove 12,000 miles divide it by 6 would equal 2,000 miles per 32nd of tread loss. Legally you can go to 2/32"nd but personally I would get new tires before that. This should at least give you a ballpark idea.

Thank you for this information, it really helps me know how much mileage I can still drive on these rear tires, which I've put on about 22k miles so far. So looks like I can maybe get about 3-4k miles hopefully.
