Tire Size for 18x8.5

I realize this question has bounced around a little in the past, but I just wanted to get a fresh take from people that have upgraded their wheels.

I have a stock 2007 335i sedan (non-sport) and just purchased 18x8.5 style 313 wheels:

Looking for a square set-up and would also like to get some wheel curb protection.

What size tires would you guys recommend? It's just a daily driver - no track time.

From what I can determine, most are recommending 235 40 18.

I'll probably put some flavor of Michelin Pilot Sport (A/S 3) on them.

PS - If anyone is interested in some really nice condition style 159 wheels, especially in the Raleigh area, please let me know. $150 each or $450 for all 4 (plus shipping if I have to mail).

Garage List
235 is too skinny in my opinion. should be using 245. The 335i e90 was coming with 255 tires on the rear from the factory. I personally run a 245 MSS front tire on an 8.5 rim, work's great.

As Nonometer is running and suggested a 245.
8.5"- MIN.225. - IDEAL 235-245. - MAX.255.
For an ordinary fitting its what you can put on the front without rubbing.
Like those Wheels. Good luck.
