Putting OEM Xenon's back into my salvage car, advice needed!
Years ago I picked up a 2009 335i for very cheap with minor body damage at a dealer auction. I worked on it for almost a year, mostly just replacing body parts with ones off other wrecked cars, then taking it to the body shop to get it painted. It didn't come with headlights though, and the body shop had halogen ones that fit, and they worked, but it threw a code.
Later, I found out my model needs Xenon w/ AHC, hence getting the error. About a year ago, my headlights stopped working all of a sudden and I've been forced to finally fix the problem the right way. I'm planning on buying some used or new OEM Xenon w/ AHC full assembly set. Will I be able to just take the bumper off, drop them in there, and have it working (sans a computer coding, which I'm sure I'll need)? I am worried as to why the halogens stopped working a year ago, perhaps something burnt out or the computer purposely stopped turning them on? Fuses are fine. The halo rings are still getting power, so some power is coming through that harness, not sure if I can test it with a meter? |
