Can someone explain these halo lights

I'm new to bmws but not to cars. Can someone please explain to be how these Angel Eye head Halo Ring Marker Headlight Bulbs. They are said to be plug and play with a 207 E90. They look like regular lheadlihhts but are illustrated as being just the halogen ring bulbs. How is this possible or is it just a marketing ploy?

Having a hard time following are you talking about just the angel eyes and the bulb they use (rings around the headlight). Or do you have a picture?

On pre-Lci E90 / E92s (early model), the halogen bulb illuminates the rings using fiberoptic style light distribution. This bulb can be swapped out for an LED so it is white. The other option would be to crack open the headlight and replace it with a full LED ring but that is completely custom

hopefully this answers your question....

Well our angel eyes are really just two fiber optic tubes that are both lit up by one bulb, but when you switch to LED bulbs they just make that light produced in the fiber optic tube light up brighter, that's all.. No marketing ploy, they really are a lot brighter than oem, depending on which bulbs you select..

+1 - There are a lot of different products out on the market now adays, and these one appear to be from a design from a few years back at this point. I would recommend going through the vendor section of the forum to see what is out there since there are going to be a lot brighter and better quality products then something like this one.
