Received item today, closing this thread, thanks everyone!

Update on 9/28:
Received JB4 in the package today and closing this thread. Thanks to everyone.

Update on 9/28:

Seller called me around noon and explained the situation, he provided a USPS receipt with tracking #. USPS website showed it arrives tomorrow and I will close this thread once confirm it's in working condition. But meanwhile I've taken down all screenshots to protect seller's privacy.

The seller did offer $25 refund for all the delay and frustration but I thanked him and refused. I'm not trying to use the situation for any financial benefit, all I want is to receive the item in a working condition at the agreed price.

This is a classic case of what bad communication can do to a forum based transaction. The seller was informed by his friend who saw this post and reacted quickly, I would like to thank everyone for your help to provide information.

Original story:

I was looking for a JB4 in NYC area last Tuesday 9/20 and saw uj81117 was selling JB4 here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1300361

I replied to the thread and PMed him with my cell #, he texted me within a min. I asked a few questions and he seems to know the N54 and JB4 pretty well, he said he lives on Long Island, sold the car and bought a C63 AMG. He said he can deliver it to me in Queens on Thursday but if I pay today he can ship it out and I will get it on Wed. We agreed on $300 shipped and I provided the address of the shop. I PayPal gifted him $300 as requested and he confirmed he received it and will ship in 20 min. Then no reply on text message on Tue 9/20 and Wed 9/21.

He called at 6:12pm on Wed telling me the mailroom at his company messed up with the zip code or something, and he will ship it out on Thu. I texted on Thu, Fri, Sat, no reply. Tried to call the number on Sat but no one picks up, then he texted me from a different number, saying his car was totaled and his phone was not working and he lost my contact. But he would drop by the junkyard and pick up the package from the totaled car and deliver to my home address around 10pm on Sat. I provided the address, no show, no reply on text or call, again.

I texted him again on Mon 9/26, he said he will deliver around 8:30pm. Still no show, no reply. I texted and called today, no reply, calls went to voicemail.

If I'm not scammed, I don't know what this is...

But this guy apparently knows a lot of N54 335i and JB4 and that's why I trusted him.

PayPal can't help as I gifted the money, guess it's lesson learned.

Thanks.

Sucks that you may have been scammed but I'd do a couple things. At least xxxx out the last 4 of his number, if you paid with CC or debt card, even if it was PP call your bank/CC provider and tell them what happen, keep trying to communicate with this person to get your product. And remove YOUR address from this thread.

I'm in a situation rn where I shipped something to someone, it wasnt what they expected so I took my own money to buy what they thought they were getting, sent it to them, the package (my fault I put it in an plain envelope) ripped open and the item was lost. Lucky for me the guy isnt that upset but I still feel guilty since I should've put the item in a box and I cant say I'm communicating with this person too effectively since I'm at a moral delima.

I know your situation is different, but, hopefully your CC/Bank will take care of you. GL bro

I only do it if it's not high priced and the seller has double digit positive feedback.

If you funded transaction using card you may be able to do chargeback but unlikely. I say post his phone number here and everyone can harass him.

I funded it with my checking account, I don't think I can get the money back. I want to give this guy a few more days - he said his car was totaled on Thur so he might got in an accident again, who knows...

There are millions of ways to harass him, like post a nice Manhattan 1 bedroom rent for like $1500 and leave his number... or selling an iphone 7 for $500... but he knows my cell # as well

Thanks for the info. I prefer to believe he was just really really bad at communication then... I don't want to ruin a kid's future for $300, so many easy ways to get him into trouble...

Nah make his life hell with his phone number(s) until he ships you your product or refunds you.

Its Karma...for being an awful scammer, since everyone knew exactly who he was immediately.

Usually i give people on this forum the benefit of the doubt of being genuine. Car enthusiasts screwing over other car enthusiasts is not cool.

Bashim Khan, deserves a beat down and with a name like that it shouldn't be too hard to get him put on the no fly list.

And it just so happens his car gets totaled as he is heading out to overnight the package.. Damn that is some third rate Hollywood BS creativity here.

Also claims that he wrecked in his brothers new M6, claims to have a C63AMG but feels the need to scam people for a few hundred dollars.. Me thinks Bashim is full of shit and lives in fantasy land. We got a JV baller on our hands here trying to act like he's NBA Jam..
