[Ask92]

Hey guys having an issue with my Idrive and I figured I'd ask here and see if anyone has any easy solutions or tips. My car is a 2007 335i e90 Idrive with the premium package. The issue is that for the last few days most of the time my Idrive screen is blank and none of the features work. The knob freespins, the screen is black, the eject buttons do nothing, steering wheel controls are dead and obviously the speakers aren't working. The screen does flash every 35 seconds accompanied by the SOS green led turning on, leading me to think it's the Idrive trying to boot and not being able to. I tried the volume+ejects trick to reset and it didn't do anything. Also disconnected the battery for 30 minutes which also didn't change anything. It did however work perfectly yesterday morning when I drove the car to work. Everything was perfect and I figured it was a bug that it overcame. Went back out for lunch and it did the black screen again. Probably not a connection issue since when I parked the car it worked, turned it off and then turned it back on and it wasn't working.

Anyone have any idea on a possible fix besides reloading the Idrive firmware? (which I can do I suppose but it's a huge pita)
