E90 330d Faulty pressure converter?
Hi all. My vehicle is M57/T2 engine. Recently she came out with the "duck" noise from engine bay (People said from internet). Moreover, I felt the sensitive of performance became a bit drop. I tried to use Carly OBD2 program and no faults related from this. I done plenty of research and I defined it should be pressure converter problem.
Can anyone have this situation before? Hopefully is the hose small leaking. Please share your experience due to I am going to disassemble on next weekend and check it out. Please click into the links to hear the weird sound as below. By the way, if anyone have those of parts please PM if possible. Many thanks! Part number: 11747796634, 11727545323, 11747797082 |

The pressure converter that you are pointing to is the EGR control one that is European version. It could very well be the one as the sound is close to the one of a vacuum applied to a pressured converter by a hand pump. But before, you can test it if you know the behavior of the EGR at idle. You would need to connect a gauge in parallel at the pressure converter output port to measure the vacuum. Or even easier just connect at the EGR input side. On the US side the cheapest place to get a new one is from ECS Tuning at $50+

Hi Yozh, thanks for your information. You are right, it imported from UK. By the way, do you know if the pressure converter will affect or damage the engine/ turbo if I am not repair as soon as possible. I cannot find anyone mention about this fault affect.

Hi Antonie,
There are 2 pressure converter. The noisy one for you is on the left hand side of the engine and controls the swirl flaps command. Are your swirl flaps still there or did you blank them with plates? |
