Non fault accident and accident management companies
Someone I know was involved in a non fault accident and they way they explained the situation made it sound like it might get a bit complicated.
Basically, the car was parked and the offending vehicle (commercial lorry) drove into it. One witness, possible CCTV. Driver admitted fault, got company and insurance info e.t.c. said he would report it to the company. Checked with the company and of course he didn't report it. Car is drivable but needs a new door. The repair cost is likely to write the car off as it's not worth much so it was hoped to settle with the company out of insurance. They seem to be going about it very slowly. 'We'll try to find the driver' e.t.c. What are the chances now he's changed his mind about liability... I was wondering, is it worth just contacting an accident management company to speed things up a bit. Not looking for a gratuitous rental car, just to light a fire under the company to sort it out. |
