iDrive brightness

What do you guys have your brightness set to? I notice that it automatically dims/brightens depending on outside light condition. I used to have it set at the halfway point, but found it was getting a bit too dim when in the shadows, so I now have it set at the 3 quarter point, which has improved it, only, the downside is, at night, it's a little too bright. There doesn't seem to be a sweet spot for me.

Curious as to whether people have theirs set at half way, less than halfway or full brightness?

I have mine at half way/ lower then that!

I have a button mapped to turn it off, although that doesn't switch off the backlight

What do you mean?

I have one of my buttons set to turn off the display, which turns it off completely.

I usually do this at night, if I'm not using it.

All the menus. Not too bright, but too dim during sunny days in shaded areas (when set at the halfway point)

RTFM

You can allocate the two soft keys on the steering wheel or the 8 memory buttons on the dash to do all sorts of things.

Yeah, I've used up all my 8 buttons on the dash, but how do you reprogram the ones on the steering wheel?

Mm. Mine's a 2013 and it has different logos on the buttons than a star and diamond. Does this mean I can't do it?

Mine only turns the screen off. It seems the backlight stays on.

Because the screen is illuminated by a backlight, the screen switches off but the backlight remains on, giving a grey glow to where the screen is.

I can't find a picture
