Check Engine Light after Replacing Camshaft Solenoids

I need some help from other Bimmer owners! I've had issues with my check engine light (yellow) coming on and off intermittently. Seemingly for no reason (just while driving) most times. My mech replaced the camshaft solenoids after the codes all came up with camshaft/intake related codes. The light was off and my car was running much better (more power, less slug in 1st gear, better idle). Went 3 weeks and the light came back on again. My mech then cleaned out the gasket/seal within the vanos system. Light was off for another 3 weeks. Then came on one day after I punched it from a stop light. Stayed on only for a few hours. Next week it came back on again after I punched it from a stop sign. Stayed on for a few hours. Next week it is now coming on every few days again and now for no reason again (just while driving normally). When the light comes on it almost never allows me to check the oil with the sensor. It just won't read the oil level or it reads it as low, even though its not. Once it even came on with the low oil warning light, even though the oil wasn't low. I added half a quart anyway and the oil warning light went away. But it is all tied into the check engine light. When the light is off, everything works perfectly. When the light is on, it won't even show me any CC-ID codes anymore. Only my mech can run the codes now. Has anyone had a similar issue? Anyone know what's up? Its a 2011 E90 323i automatic. Any help would be really appreciated!

I think you have a lot of "sludge" in the engine. I would run an engine oil flush and then change the oil and filter.

In my opinion, you should run an engine oil flush every time you do an oil change, if you following the BMW 17k oil intervals. You should also change the filter 1/2 way through the cycle at about 8k in.
