*Muffler Delete owners* feedback needed!

Finally got my car back after 3 weeks from the shop, I want to do something to it.

Now, I want to delete my muffler for that little extra sound...

but my girlfriend HATES extra noise. Well, if its something not too extreme, I can convince her to deal with it.. but if its too big of a difference, really bad idea.

so those of you who deleted their muffler, please do NOT post feedback from your point of you, but say you are a sensitive girl.

would you be able to deal with the extra noise? or is it something too much?

Im only going to delete the muffler, not the resonator.. does it sound raspy at all?

just by deleting the muffler??

my past experiences told me that resonator delete created more "cabin drone noise" than muffler delete.. muffler delete usually dealt with outer noise..

Let's see,

I love it,

My ex and sister hate it..

It's my car,

So, I still have no muffler =)

If your girlfriend does not like loud cars, she wont like yours after you take the muffler off. But, it's your car so you should mod it as you please. I will add that there are ways to keep it "quieter." (for when she is in the car)

I don't even wanna think how much drone there's gonna be without resonator... But oh well, this mod is still the best bang for the buck. You get used to the drone eventually. Blast the music loud and there's no drone.

And btw, listen to Papa13, he is right. Your girl is high-maintenance, man.

I would have thought the drone could be minimized by placing improved isolation of the pipe itself - is this not the case ??

I don't think its that dangerous person who sold me AFE intake (thank you btw its been about 2 years with it I think...lovin it) But I dont think it's that bad... definitely a lot better than any rice rocket exhaust...

You will pass inspection as long as you pass each state's noise level db. If you remove the cat converter, that is illegal, but removing muffler does nothing to emissions nor inspection in that case. From my understanding, muffler is there for only two reasons. 1. control the sound of your exhaust 2. control the amount of back pressure.

If cop pulls you over because "you have no muffler" which completely doesn't make sense, the cop will probably have to test your vehicle for exhaust noise level. If you pass, they can't do jack.

even if I had the money I wouldn't spend it on Eisenmann exhaust. gives no gain.

Hey dude, I doubt you should do the muffler delete. Honestly, I would care about the girl, if you really love her and if she really hates that sound then just keep your car quiet. The muffler delete not only causes so much sound outside you can also hear it in the inside!

I'm thinking of wrapping my pipes to quiet it down. I'll see how it works.

too noisy? haha thats the only reason I can think of.

I do a lot of long-distance drive with my girl in the car, so droning noise is a killer.

only realistic way or should I say only way that works is by putting silencer in the exhaust to keep it quiet, but I don't see that happening because the tip is too small.

I thought of it more(about keeping the sound level between stock and no-muffler) the other night, I might just buy a small sized magnaflow resonator and put it somewhere between the piping. I think that'll keep it quiet, while keeping the aggressive exhaust sound outside. no-muffler might be too noisy, but stock is way too quiet if you are modded.

I picked up a silencer and a flapper. The car sounded like complete rice after. It made this "BU BU BU BU BU BU BUBU BU" noise.
I took it right out!

The best way muffler delete is with a clear pipe. Raspy at 4KRPM, at low around 2-3KRPM you get this low growl and it sorta sounds like its sucking back in air kinda sound. All I have to say, and ask any muffler delete owner and they will tell you it sounds amazing.

however drone is noticeable in different temperatures. With the simota intake on a warm day, no drone!
But thats cause i have my windows rolled down and listening to the beauty of my setup

Oh I might try wrapping the pipes on the outside to see if I can eliminate the drone.

So I'm with LUX on this one. I want to do it, but I don't want it to be 'too' loud to bother the lady. Also...
How did you all approach the muffler shop to ask them to do it? Did you have the piping in hand and just tell them you want to cut out the muffler or what? Also, is this reversible? Odds are pretty good that resale value will go down without a muffler...

100% completely reversible. Resale value? You kidding me. This mod does nothing to it.

You just say, you need a custom bent pipe with tips. To bypass the muffler.

When its tome to put the muffler back on, you just say you want the muffler re-welded.

thats probably why. I barely hear my intake right now and I have stock muffler.
Im pretty sure I won't hear any of the intake noise once I take my muffler off.
I'll probably take it off when my girl gets her car this summer.
