Detailed: BeAmW335i details a plain old Sapphire Black E92

After spending hours researching about all the professional products some of you guys use, I smacked myself on the head and said I'M NOT A PROFESSIONAL DETAILER! So I went out and bought the Meguiars NXT 2.0.

Process and products used:
Washed with Meguiars Gold Class Car Wash.
Clayed part of the hood and rear bumper with Mothers Clay Bar and QD.
Applied Meguiars NXT Tech Wax 2.0 with a MF applicator pad.
Used couple of MF towels to remove the wax.
Used Meguiars Cleaner Wax on the wheels (first time I've done this).
Black Magic Tire Wet Foam on the tires.
Lexol leather cleaner and leather conditioner on the leather.

Overall I am happy with the NXT 2.0. In the past, I have only used Meguiars 1-2-3 step, and their cleaner wax. The NXT was easy to apply and remove, but left a little bit of haze after the initial buffing with a MF towel (even though I used very little amount). I used another clean MF towel, and the haze came right off. The paint is as smooth as it was with the Meguiars cleaner wax, but with better shine and reflection.

Don't be ashamed. NXT 2.0 is pretty nice and definately not the worst. It goes on super smooth and comes off just as easy.

That looks pretty good to me!!

I have seen lots of people have good results with OTC products like you use!! You should be proud!

Was this your car?

Beautiful! That NXT 2.0 has gotten pretty good reviews for shine and durability.

i dont think megs 26 is considered otc since its part of their professional line. Plus i think they stopped making it

Meguiars still makes #26, but isn't that a wax, and not a sealant? Since there is so much hype about sealants, I really wanted to try their #21, but all I could find locally was #26. I had heard good things about the NXT 2.0 also, so I went with that instead. I think I also read somewhere that the NXT 2.0 is supposed to be like a sealant.

nice detail! i'm looking forward to trying NXT 2.0 myself.

#26 is a carnauba wax, NXT 2.0 is a synthetic sealant. it's #16 they don't sell in the US anymore (but they do make it and sell it outside of the US).

Just a quick update on waxing the wheels with Meguiars cleaner wax. After three days of driving, there was no noticeable difference if the wheels had less brake dust on them. They were a little shinier though! The biggest improvement was that wiping the brake dust off with a towel was twice as easier because of the slicker surface. I know there are better, specialized products for sealing the wheels. I just used the cleaner wax because it was left over and I wanted to finish it. Now lets see how long this stuff will last on the wheels!
