Across all of BMW lineup, what percent of people do you think custom order cars vs. purchase one off of the dealer lot?

Not so sure what % buy off the lot vs custom order. All I know is that I will always custom order my car. Why settle? Get exactly what you want.

Bought off the lot exactly what I was looking for. Now took a couple months to find the one. Not financially far enough in life to take a hit on a brand new one. But one day I will

Originally, I was looking for a fully loaded Austin Yellow Metallic BMW M4. Spent about 1 month looking for one but no lucky.
I was about to special order a Austin Yellow Metallic M4 but I went to Crevier BMW and spotted a fully loaded Individual Java Green M4. Being one of two in California is pretty sweet . |

I just picked up my fourth BMW (a M2) and it's the first car that I've had custom built (of any make). Price has always been important to me and I would imagine it's tougher to negotiate a custom built car vs one that has been sitting on the lot for awhile. A lot of people may not even realize they can custom order a car. I've never had a salesperson mention the possibility to me. They just push the cars on the lot or if you can't find what you want they'll get on their computer and try to find one at another dealership that can be transferred to them.

I'm in NJ custom order is virtually unnecessary here given the amount of dealerships in the area. You are bound to find what you are looking for unless it's a really custom setup; ex manual, M sport, with a particular seat color.

ED is way to get 7% off, wonderful Germany trip, and ability to top car out on Autobahn.
I ED ordered a basic BMW X1 s28i with only M Sport added, and My wife and I have all the tech we need. One could pay more for less in an American car. |

7% off guaranteed? It's not as if you negot a price and then say ED and get an added 7 off? Anyway, still seems like added X unless you were planning a german trip.
