Identify a wire in the engine bay plz (E90 320D)

Could some one tell me what is that wire with the connector on the end? Also what is the purpose of the bracket in the other red circle?

Pretty sure its the plug for the car alarm sensor which should be mounted on the bracket. The sensor is missing.
