new to the delete game, stupid questions
ok so i have the pdf taken care of now I'm moving on to the egr. so would it make sense to get the erg race pipe? essentially is that the erg delete is it the same as the block off plates? if not what are the pros and cons of just the block off plates or the race pipe?

There are 4 issues to deal with in terms of EGR delete: 1) Block 2) Valve 3) Cooler 4) DDE Coding.
1) The simple, easy, immediate approach is to block it at the valve. That might buy you time if the car isn't already choked with CBU. Blocking it at the manifold is the preferred, permanent block solution. 2) The valve is an issue for two reasons. It constitutes a reduction to intake flow capacity. It is also associated with coding in that the control motor must remain functional in order preclude limp mode in the DDE, if not coded out in a tune. 3) The cooler is a potential failure piece, leaking coolant into the exhaust if it does fail. 4) Coding to support a lack or modification of the EGR function(s) may be approached in several ways. The preferred solution is a tune that eliminates EGR entirely. Other middle-of-road solutions are available, representing compromises forming a less functional EGR system. EGR fault codes need to be addressed with either a tune, resetting them manually or fooling the DDE into thinking the parts it is looking for are still functional. |
