Arrow We tour BMW Niederlassung factory dealership in Munich...

Well... it has been awhile since I've toured the BMW Niederlassung factory dealership in Munich. A friend and fellow Bimmerpost member qdtjant and I were at the dealership to pick up a test car. More on that in a later post. But for now here are some of the cars we saw on display at BMW's premier factory dealership.

One cool thing we did do was tour the underground garages of the dealership(with an escort). Our guide told us how every "werkstestwagen" or "zebra" test car gets it's first service done at this dealership's service dept. I found that hard to believe, but that's what he told us. Sorry we were not allowed to take pics in the service bay areas. Having the garages underground helps keep prying eyes away was what we were told. What I didn't realize was how large of a garage this dealership has. In each service "hall" - I counted 18 service lifts - plus some extra spaces where you could work on cars(no lifts). But what was interesting was there were THREE underground "halls"!! So 3x 18 service bays - plus I think another eight at street level!! What a place!

Sorry about the quality of my pics... I only had my little pocket camera and since we were there to pick up a "test car"... our time was kind of limited.

For anyone visiting the Welt... this dealer is just a mile or so away - and always has cool interesting cars on display. Often times a race car(on loan) from BMW Classic can be seen on display in the lobby. This time they just had a M6 for 180K euros! lol

Ok onto my pics... Enjoy!

Thanks a lot for the great pics. I have always liked the BMW dealership on Frankfurter Ring. IMO they have got there much more interesting cars than in BMW Welt. And there are that much people there, you can always get in and feel the cars without the crowds next to you.

I love their Individual collection. There is always something special right there

Awesome place. We went there to pick up our set of F10 LCI Euro taillights during our ED 2 years ago - friendly staff and there were a lot of cars to look at!

The 2 series active tourer looks like a white blob from the side profile

Thanks for sharing your pics.
I would like to do the ED for next BMW and will add a visit to that dealership for sure, being so close to the Welt.

I would hit that D5 all day long and pay extra for weekends. It needs the side Alpina striping though. Surprised that the M4 is more than that D5 though.

Thanks Dackelone ! You keep nailing it.

How is parking?
There is parking on both sides of the dealership. Just tell them you are there to buy some parts(Teile Verkauf) or there to test drive(Probefahrt) a car - there is a guard at the parking entrances. There is also an L-shaped street that runs behind the dealership - that you can find some parking spots on. Also be sure to go downstairs, where all the Individual cars are kept.

Can't agree more... the look of the Touring is fantastic to me... then Alpina breathing on it....

DRL's always on at that dealership? If so I'd never buy one of those cars being that the DRL's will surely burn/short out post warranty. Isn't warranty 2 yrs in Germany?

Nice pics, Dave. Nice Alpina there. Didn't know that they're sold directly @BMW.

BTW. met a D4 Biturbo yesterday on the Autobahn. Interested in a M135i vs Alpina D4 Biturbo video?
