Black Sapphire Newb Help

Hey guys I been reading the detailed portion of the Newb guide but its just too much for me to handle. Below are my current stuff that I use.

I do not want to spend too much money thats why im not buying the polisher machine.

-Washing cloth sponge
-Water Softener
-MAGUIRE NXT Liquid Wax
-MAGUIRE Soap
-MAGUIRE Paint Cleaner
-MAGUIRE CLAY KIT
-MAGUIRE TIRE Dressing

My car is pretty clean in the end, but I cant get rid of my *Swirl Marks. I know without the machine I wont be able to take out all of them but if I can greatly reduce it then it would be great. Is there any polishing substance and applicant that I could use to get rid of swirl marks? I remember there was a Zaino one but I lost the link for it.

BTW guys what else should I buy? Its very dusty out here and the sun is very intense, are the wax layers im putting up good enough?

Thanks!

Nix the sponge. Nothing but sheepskin touches my BS. I have about 10, and use 3 per wash.

You should also get the large waffle weave drying towels. They are amazing.

A grout sponge is one of the preferred mediums of washing cars with detailers, (myself included).

But yeah sheepskins mits are great too.

I hate to say it, but there is no miracle product that gets rid of swirls, without polishing. If you want try something like meguiars scratchX, but it really isn't going to do much.

The best way to not have swirl marks is prevention. At least finish the proper washing techniques of the sticky (the 2 bucket method).

There are products called glazes that "fill in the swirls" for a short time, usually gone in 1 or two washes, and you could try those if you want. But long story short. A polisher is the only way you are going to eliminate the swirls for good. Take your car to a detailer and really follow the washing techniques mentioned in the sticky after they are gone!

Sorry for the bad news...

Ahh,

So I need to buy a better washing mint. I remember seeing a thread about polishing compound from zaino that could be use on a applicant pad. I lost the link crap!

You're thinking of Zaino Z-PC, and you can use it by hand but it works best using a machine. Really, that's the only way to get rid of swirls. Trying to polish out swirls by hand would be exhausting, if you are talking about the whole car. If you don't want to do it yourself, take it to a good detailer to machine polish it, then you can do the upkeep yourself. You only need to polish once, maybe twice a year.

Okay im almost due for oil change, ill ask my dealer then. After I get it polished I should buy a sealant and then carnauba wax right? Seal it then wax?

For sure seal it with wax, because then you're really leaving your paint unprotected. If possible do two coats, 24 hours apart, finishing with a nice quick detailer to keep it looking shinny and protected further.

Correct. Seal then wax. A good seal will last months as for most wax's last weeks.
