Spongy brake feel...
I just got my 330i back from the dealer after having it serviced for its scheduled maintenance of brake fluid. I originally thought it was for replacing brake pads after 30000 miles but the SA checked my key fob and it was just for brake fluid. So I get the car back and now my brakes feel spongy. I hafta depress it a lot farther than I remember to get the same brake response. Any ideas as to why I feel this or is it all in my head??? Anything they could've done wrong or incomplete to cause this??? Thanks in advance!

Air in system
Hi,
The classic description of air in the brake lines is a "spongy" pedal. Since air is compressible and brake fluid is not, the pedal will have that springy or spongy feel. It's possible that they didn't do the fluid flush correctly and inadvertently introduced air into the lines. I would recommend taking it back to them and letting them know. Air in the lines can seriously degrade braking performance and can put you at significant risk. Do have this checked out ASAP. Regards, Adnan |

In the meantime, drive carefully, make sure you're not losing (leaking) any brake fluid anywhere, and don't follow too closely to anyone.
