MityVac Tube Length

so today I'm going to do my oil change using my new vac and have read the tube needs to just touch the bottom. anyone know the exact length that this is? I think the tubes have a slight curve from packaging, anyone else's? If so, did they eventually straighten out and was there an issue with it being slightly curved? any tips?

Make sure your oil is hot when vacuuming.

awesome 30" it is and will make sure it's hot! is it easy to tell when it's just touching the bottom?
