Touchless car wash - Boston area?
Has anyone had good results with a touchless car wash in the metro west area? I work in Wellesley. Where is there a good one around there? Thanks

Thanks, yea I went to Scrub a Dub for the Audi. But it was silver. (so any scratches could not be seen as clearly) Now I have a darker color. So worst case scenario would be scratching the paint on my new ride! Do you guys find that the soft cloth auto car washes are OK on the paint? Dont have time to DIY wash and detail.

ive been taking the Hummer to Allston Car Wash and they're pretty good but I have a feeling the 335i will never see an automatic car wash

OK so you guys are just DIY? Even in the winter?
I'll prob just say the hell with it, and run it through.

If one of you guys wants to come to my place and wash my car for $8 in January when it's 10 degrees out and in August when it's 95 degrees out, I'll ditch the auto car wash. Until then, I'd rather have the swirl marks.

I forgot about a decent touchless car wash in Somerville just down the road past the Herb Chambers Mercedes dealer.
After you pass HC - turn right after the light (the second one, not the one that goes around the dealership) and it's on your left. I used to take my car there whenever i felt lazy - since it was garaged that was as much weather abuse as it got it never came out super clean but it was better than nothing.

I would only go through the touchless spray booth there. whatever you do dont let them detail your car the last time i was there the put armor all on my intereior seats and dash! yep it was shiny as a strippers patent leather boots man...took me hours to buff/clean it off...

Bradford Auto Wax in the Financial District, 75 State street garage. Wash every 3-4 weeks, detail every 3-4 months (polish and wax). Great job, not too bad on price.
I live in the North End, so I have no place to wash the car. |

Don't get me wrong, I love to put my hands on the 335i and wax it every time I drive to New Jersey (every other month), but when I lived in Chicago I would get my car washed once per week. And, it ran me $12 for interior and exterior hand wash. |

Kev: I talked to Matt over there, and will prob give them a shot. Lately the thought of scratched paint and rim rash from auto wash rails is making me uneasy now that I have darker paint and ZSP wheels.

Josh, you have a nice set up. Too bad the weather this weekend will be craptastic and I am in the office today. It's so nice out!

Couldn't agreed more. I took my car there twice and found swirl marks here and there under my license plate. It's a shame to their well-known reputations. Don't think i would ever go back there.
But i happen to know this guy who washes car by private appointment and according to my friend he onced washed Tom Brady's car so well that he was asked to go to his house to wash Brady's cars regularly as a private car washer. Though i never have him washed my car, so there is no guarantee. But if you want his #, PM me and i will give it to you. Otherwise, good luck in finding a good touchless car wash in Boston. |
