Romantic Road, Germany
Has anyone taken this route? Planning on spending a week there next year, maybe doing Airbnb in two or three town en-route and looking for recommendations and opinions.
Doesn't have to be Airbnb, any suggestions to hotels also welcome - thanks. |

Really tempted to take my 640i but a Fiat 500 was more than big enough on the very narrow twisty roads around Como last September and that's without the lunatics headed towards you in the middle of the road around the next corner! I'll post some pics and thoughts after the trip. |

Well, you certainly get around Europe!
Seriously though, last September on those roads was enough for me and it's not as if you need a car once you're in Bellagio (thoroughly recommend this place: http://www.borgoleterrazze.com). Next year we'll get a pre-booked taxi from Milan airport then back to Como for the train to Munich. Of course, driving in Germany will be a different thing altogether and we'll get something half-decent from Europcar. As I said earlier, I'd love to take my F12 but, apart from the miles I'd be piling on just getting there, I have reservations about driving with the steering wheel on the 'wrong' side. |

It's not that bad (steering wheel on the wrong side).
I've done mountain passes, 150mph on the autobahn, tiny little towns and villages, it's cool |
