pre-emptive strike, plans before my 335
so i plan to pick up a 335, when, not sure really maybe this summer or next winter. i used to have an evo picked up a g35 coupe and just miss how i can spend a grand or two and pick up something lke 100whp. so im wondering if someone can tell me what will get me THE MOST POWER, while also taking safety of the motor into consideration and keeping the car moderately quiet while still keeping turbo sounds(SPOOL) . ive done some research and so far its looking like some kind of intake or air filter/ some kind of downpipes and the procede v1.47, people say v2 but im not sure what the upgrade does ive checked the vishnu site and they still claim its not available. if you guys can throw in some input and maybe some specific brand names or tunes you chose and why you chose those as oppose to others, thatd be cool thanks for lookin

Helix attache is the only way to go software wise, or i guess dinan if your really scared of having your warentee voided. But if you plan on doing any other mods that are not dinan, there is no reason to pay the extra money for the dinan software

oh crap wrong place, can a mod move this to the correct forum for me. ye im trying to do my research now so i know what direction im headed in once i get the car. im hoping to find a sympathetic dealer who would overlook my mods because the dinan is a one shot deal, cant be removed and sold if i change my mind. right now it looks like some kind of catless downpipe, havent seen the difference in price of power for UR and riss racing downpipes but those are the only two i know of now. and it seems in terms of tune the vishnu procede is pretty popular a lot of people like it and the firmware upgrades they are putting out. intakes i still know nothing about in terms of price or brands.

why is that the only intake youd consider, cant you just get a cheapo $150 to create air flow/ more spool noise. maybe im taking it lightly coming from an evo, not too familiar with bmw parts pricing but 1800 sounds like its made out of dry carbon fiber and laced with gold and crude oil stock

It is a work of art, just search this site for it, it's awesome The Logic HVI should run you a few hundred UR CAI is more like 600 BMS filter is $133 shipped If you're looking on spending a little money and getting a lot of performance go JB2, get the X upgrade, R switch, DP's, BMS filter, if you order from his site right now you can get all of that for about $1300 with tax (ca) shipped. And get a little more then 100WHP gain. Hope that helps.

If you're going off the basis of those three things. JB2X is putting down awesome power at 1/4 of the price or less then others. Reliability? This tune leaves all the OEM saftey systems in place. The only people that get CEL's are from improper installation or pushing the envelope too far, past suggested levels.

boo you, just wanted some thanks everyone else for input, it looks like the procede will give you close to 400whp/400tq+ with dp/ intake. how does the jb2 compare with the same mods. which mods will make about 400whp. thats what im shooting for. my old evo at 350w was a blast. i could leave that thing in 5th on the highway and just fly around

Reliablity? Has it even been released to everyone on the list yet? How do you know it is reliable....

To the OP suffice to say that there is a HUGE disagreement if hot air makes a big difference in power. Just take a look at the record setting 335i and what intake he uses. Also, what kind of intake does Shiv use? What kind of intake did Logic decide to make? I havent seen the Helix prototype intake but I would love to see some pics, I have a feeling it is a HAI as well....

Yeah V2 didn't have any problems during the beta testing either.
Look what happened to that.
