Are these tires okay ?
I live in bc Canada and would like to go snowboarding however, my 2006 bmw 325i e90 (rear wheel drive) has 205 55r16 uniroyal tiger paw touring m+s tires and I am wondering if these would be okay to go up the a ski resort? With dtc enabled I have a little bit of wheel spin but they have been decent around town so far with snow on the ground. We have about half a foot so far here.. should I get cables or chains?
They also have about 90 to 80% tread |

Probably not. Is there another car you can take or have one of your friends drive instead?

Don't risk it. I live in bc. Just get a dedicated set of winters.
Once your up at the resorts you have to keep in mind the temperatures dip much much lower. There's a high possible chance your gonna get stuck and block the people behind you, which is very imbarressing and a waste of time. |

Hey guys, Im thinking about getting the Enkei ekm3 wheels for my e92. They would be +1 from oe size. What would be, if any, disadvantages from going +1 on my vehicle. I also have xdrive. Or has anyone had a bad experience with enkei?

No offense taken. The tires were on the car when I bought it. I'm looking into some Nokia's r2. Or pirelli 240 wintersports. Thanks for the clarification guys! I'm looking at Kal tire, which I know people there, or Canadian tire. Not looking to cheap out, the last owner of my car put on the tires I have now. Thoughts on these tires?

Definitely go for the Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2. https://www.tires-easy.com/tires/205...-Snow%2FWinter
Pick the cheapest R2. The others are higher speed rated and or runflats. The cheapest one is only rated to 105mph. Which I'm sure you'll be fine in the winter. |

Of course they can be used on the dry/wet. That's why they are called winter tires for winters varying conditions. Not snow/ice tires. 4.4-7.2° C is okay but driving should be kept to a minimum. Anything below that and you're fine.
Also I highly recommend you get an alignment by a reputable shop. The car might track straight but a tire or two might be off causing you to waste money in the long run. Having to buy tires more frequently. Like they say maintenance now helps prevent costly repairs in the future. |
