Looks like we can adjust EGR flow via ISTA!!
Today i was looking for actual vs requested boost values for my X535D in ISTA and i bumped into a setting for the adjustment of EGR flow control.I didn't try it but looks we can minimize the amount of EGR flow into the intake which can reduce carbon buildup.But i am not sure if the adjustment amount would be enough to prevent carbon build up.

And to be honest; I had the same code prior to removal. The only difference was that resetting swirl flap adaptions cured the code. However the code is symptomatic of either carbon build up around the flaps preventing full opening or closure or a failed/faulting swirl flap actuator. As my flaps are gone it's not actually an issue and the build up around them would have been a restriction. I don't think the EGR adjustments would have any adverse effect. It should mean that carbon build up is diminished over time. Put a post up for someone with ISTA nearby. Isn't Sensible from the coding forum near London? |

The low pressure EGR is only in the X5, and it is after the DPF, so relatively soot free. Therefore, adjusting it is probably allowed for slight emissions and performance. The high pressure EGR should not be allowed to be adjusted. Violation of emissions laws. It was too good to be true maybe |
