Question Will E90 328i non-sport shocks & springs fit on an E90 335i?

I want to pair them with 225/45/R17 [front] + 245/40/R17 [rear].

Thank you!

They will bolt up, yes. But why the hell would you want to do this? Get the proper shocks and springs.

To soften the ride cheaply.

It seems like basically there are ZERO aftermarket parts to soften the ride, so this is one solution.

Why not see if the f30 shock/spring combo fits?

Why 328? Just because I was able to find a set of 328 shocks/springs available, so wanted to see if I could just use that instead of buying a whole new set.

The major problem with this is the rear spring rate. Sport package rear springs are immensely stiffer than their non-sport counterparts. Putting non sport shocks on a sport rear spring will result in moderately reduced compression rates back there. I think this is what you are gunning for as it would soften bumps quite a bit. However, the non sport shocks will not have nearly enough rebound damping to cope with controlling the recoil of those high rate rear sport springs. This will lead to a loss of control, composure, and induce hops, bounce, and float. To know what this feels like drive an F30 with base suspension, especially an xdrive.
Not a desirable dynamic at all.

I suggest adding Koni FSD shocks to replace your sport units and keeping your sport springs.
I put FSD on my 330i with sport package and it vastly refined the ride quality. The ride was a smooth as any Accord/Altima/Mazda6 while retaining great handling and dececent composure on bad roads. Body roll, squat and brake dive were also minimized.

You sound like a perfect candidate for the FSD's! Read up on them. I'm sure they will suit you well.

Also, the 328i is a few hundred lbs lighter than the 335i, and the front springs will be too soft for a 335i. They will make the car sit lower in the front, and may also bottom out more.

I'd also look into koni FSD's for your situation.

Or will it be worth just replacing the shocks to the non sport one's? Will this also soften the ride?

if you are only looking for comfort, installing just the koni FSD's should soften the ride. Most people want to also improve handling and appearance, and opt to swap out springs also. But keeping the factory non-sport springs with the new shocks won't hurt anything at all, and it still will probably handle better than with the stock shocks anyway.

Also if you are still running on the factory run-flat tires, those are also contributing to the harsh ride. Getting regular tires (with a plug kit and can of fix-a-flat in the trunk) will help with comfort.
