part of me likes it, and part of me hopes vw fights him on it. i don't see a reason to make it hard on someone or try to inflict a bigger loss. these kinds of people are annoying in every facet of life.

HAHAHA if I wouldn't have sold my TDI last year I probably wouldn't have been far off from this, might have left the doors but that's just me feeling nice... The language in the lawsuit states that it just needs to get to the buyback location under its own power..

I live in Cincinnati and if I knew what dealer he was taking it to I would be interested in seeing it or if this goes through.

I wonder how much time he spent on it and will spend on it trying to sell the parts and what he will make in the end. My guess is he will spend a considerable amount of time trying to sell these parts really cheap.

If I was the dealer I would just say "no" and let him spend a couple of more days on the VW hotline trying to sort this out and then rescheduling a couple of months out. No point in making this simple for him.

David70 - the dealer has ZERO input in this matter. The court approved a settlement amount and conditions for buy back. It clearly stated the only conditions for approved buy back are:

1. the car must move under its own power
2. the car cannot have a salvaged title

He's actually saving VW money by removing parts they'd have to before crushing the car.

He should ADD parts to get back at VW

Hey 1MOREMOD - Highlands Brewing Company is the reason Asheville NC is Beer City USA. They were instrumental in the negotiations with Sierra Nevada and New Belgium to relocate their production facilities to Asheville.

I know the owner (Oscar) - their product is AMAZING.
