Memorial Day 2008 Sale?
Hello fellow e90ers. Memorial's Day is coming up and that's when usually car dealers clean out some inventory. By any chance would anyone know if the e93s (cabrio) will be marked down in prices? Any inside word? Any input would be great!

Just a guess, but I'd think the E93s will be the last with official markdowns (and probably not). However, given the abysmal prospects for the economy over the next year and a half (which should hit some BMW dealerships hard), depending on where you're located you may be able to deal a bit on that car.
The other problem, of course, is that the cabrio is a summer car, so frankly you'll be in a better position to deal at the end of the summer, assuming they're trying to clear inventory before the '09s arrive. |

Yeah I was thinking the same thing that end of the summer would be more likely. My reason for asking stemmed from the fact that I was trying to deal with a dealership since February when they had 3 alpine white ones. The cabrios just keep coming in and they have a grand total of 8 now (on top of the same 3). Just thought maybe they ll let some go easy this Memorials'.
Not to mention since the stimulus checks are also coming in May. |

My guess is you won't find any deals on any e93s anytime. They barely have inventory or slots for those and they never have trouble selling them, despite the gloom and doom about the Bush economy.

Depends how many are in inventory. If you go in ready to buy,you should be able to get a decent discount.Decide on a fair price over invoice and offer it to them. It's costing them money to keep them on the lot !

Thank you all for your input. The weather is rising I agree and summer cars should be in demand. I'm just keeping in mind that our economy is still not doing so hot (no pun intended) and these are still nevertheless 60k cars (335) . Thus, I think they are still highly negotiable because Shelly BMW (in SoCal) is adding to its inventory since their same February inventory.
In sum, this thread answered my question so I wouldnt get any hopes up for any upcoming sales. I guess I'm finally running low on patience and may just get one in the end of May =) |
