Changing a ED order...?

I ordered a 335i coupe a week or two weeks ago, for a beginning of June pick up in Germany. Although, I still haven't got the production # from my dealer. I've been contemplating changing my car to an XI coupe, and was wondering how possible that would be this late in the game.

My question is, is it possible to change my order and still maintain my pick up dates? (I was under the impression that the cars don't go into production until like a few weeks or so before your pick up date, so I'd have time.) IF anyone knows of has experience with altering their order, please chime in. Thanks.

Beginning of June shouldn't be a problem, but call your dealer ASAP tomorrow or Monday.

In fact, a member on bimmerfest.com is trying to change their model for a late May pick-up.

Have your CA do this immediately on Monday, you won't lose your p/u date and will probably have the same production number.I deal with changes almost daily, usually color or options and occassionally model as well.

What Irv said.

I remember I drove my CA nuts settling on color. He made the changes, but warned me that the more times I changed my mind, the more chance of an error between CA-->BMW NA-->BMW factory.

Thanks for the info... I still don't even have a production # yet. But then again I haven't decided to change the car either. (Having last min thoughts about getting an xi instead of an i.) Gonna go monday and try to test drive one to get it out of my system.

You should have a production number by now or you probably don't have a car ordered.....try to decide on the exact model,it's easier to change the color and option from the dealers computer, than to slow down the ED department.
