Best bang for the buck to reduce body roll?

for a stock 2008xi sedan? Not looking to spend $2K for coilovers, but would like to do some simple but effective modifications - maybe sway bar to reduce body roll? Front and rear both? Any input on this?

Bilstein B14s are at abouy $900 and if you look hard enough you may get some discounts and get it for less than that...

B12, konis and springs, m3 shock tower brace. I'd avoid sways. They will hurt handling unless matched up to other parts. If you're fully stock, they're already matched. They're typically the last mod done.

Thanks guys, so basically Bilsteins can greatly reduce body roll am I right? For some reason my layman knowledge made me believe it was sway bars job to handle body rolls. Live and learn

Just one more question tho, is it a must to change springs too (sorry it's my Scrooge talking trying to save)? Or will Bilsteins alone do a job? I kinda get idea that it's better to do both right? If yes, what is a proven combo for xi - what Bilstein + springs combo?

What I think we meant basically is that a good combo of springs + shocks or a good set of coilovers is the best way to do that, bear in mind it will lower the car a bit depending on what you choose and also that any of those alternatives are available for far less than $2k. A lot of people here goes with koni yellows + HR springs...I personally went for Bilsteins B14 and pay them about $900, did the install myself and I'm really happy how it drives and handle, it is not a race car, so some body roll still exists, but it is way better than stock Sport Suspension.

Bilstein is a coilover and includes springs. Try the B12 combo. Everyone loves them as an entry level coil for the street. Koni shocks and your choice of springs is the other option. Yes, you need springs to match to get what you want.
Mine lowered slightly vs stock sport suspension on 245/35-19 with 19x8.5 front and 305/30-19 with 19x11 rear using KwV2.

Fundguy you mentioned M3 shock tower brace. That would have a minimal effect on reducing body roll no?

Yes but it firms up the front big time. That, m3 front control arms, and subframe bushings are all worth looking at before sways.

Given that you're in an E93, results may vary with M3 strut brace; I'm sure you would notice the biggest difference given you have the chassis with the most amount of flex in the entire E9x family.

OP just get Bilstein dampers and a properly sized FSB and you'll be good to go.

The B6's and a 28mm front bar with Powerflex bushings and HD end links works great. Then the M3 control arms, Dinan camber plate, better rear trailing arms.

Not much. Doors forward the e93 is an e92. The strut tower brace tightens up firewall forward, identical on both models except for sway bar.

Well, that would be the biggest anti roll bars you can find, but likely not the best route to go.

Take a look at TCKR Single Adjustable Coilover that are Koni based with height and damping adjustability.

There are also other options out there like KW and more.

Shoot us a PM if you have any questions.

Uhhhhmm....Price $2,370.50 on your website. Not sure if you even read my post that you quoted about not willing to shed $2K for coilovers
However, thank you for your offer, I'll look into it

That is the lowest priced coilovers that has the best value and performance. I also mention KW if you are looking a price point product. If that is the case, a set of Koni Yellow is a much better value at under $700.

We were told by a few customers that Swift Spec-R springs will also work on the xi, so that is a good option if you are looking to lower the car and pick up some spring rates to reduce body roll. The combination of Koni and Spec-R will have better performance than KW V1 and V2.

Have you received any feedback on using the swift springs with Bilstein B8s?

Hmm, I was thinking the rear sway bar was the weakest point for body roll and this thread seems to agree:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1335528

That being said, I was planning to upgrade everything when the suspension is older and more worn out, but I am tempting just to replace the sways and get 8.5" wide wheels in the short term.

What spring rates would be good for a lowered xi ?

What's the difference between firm and roll? Wouldn't a firm ride mean less roll as a result?
