Duke Dynamics Carbon Fiber on my E90
Yes, all of this went on a 330i.
I digress... So after an UNGODLY wait, I finally received this stuff at a local warehouse! I had the items in my garage for a few weeks before I left the car off to get resprayed in some areas (to rid the car of the blemishes it had when I bought it) and get the carbon fiber clear coated with the good stuff! Fitment was practically spot on with everything! The only thing that seems slightly off is the gap between the bumper and the front fenders! Now for the quality stuff! Bonnet: It seemed super smooth with a blotch in the fiber here and there when I got it out of the box, but after the clear coat, I noticed some pressure marks IN the fiber itself! Oh well... You have to look at it from an angle to see them. Oddly enough, it only has those pressure marks on the drivers side? Still happy with it! I guess I'd be really pissed off if I did this to an M(x) and it had these imperfections... The deck lid was immaculate! Before and after the clear coat, it still looked uber smooth! A plus to that, the local indy shop owner was stoked to tell me that it was the best fitting aftermarket deck lid he has seen! He told me he usually runs across them and notices an abnormal gap on either side in regards to the rear fenders. So that made me cheese pretty good. The bumper, as stated above, has that wider gap, although I believe that was after the body shop removed it to paint it... hmm... lol. Already had an oops with the bumper Since it has those pretty little furled lips on the sides and inching into a parking spot did me no justice... So forgive me for not giving a major close up of the front, kinda embarrassing... It is FRP, so getting it "fixed," is kind of a coin toss at a moment, but feeling around the back, its not cracked beyond comprehension. Who knows, if I can't fix this one, I can just get the aero perf. bumper... Equally as appealing. I love how it came out though! Still need to buy some grilles :roll eyes:, but its looking like the funds for my grilles, tow hook license plate mount, exhaust work, and rear bumper will be going to replace my clutch/flywheel... Seems like it is starting to slip a lil' bit... Pics! (Sorry they are effing huge...) If you want more pics of a certain area, let me know! I might cry a bit if you ask for the bad areas of the bumper... Last edited by Noir; 12-30-2016 at 08:15 PM.. Reason: fitment |

The trunk fitment is poor at best. Passenger side gap is large, lights don't line up at all. Looks like you can try to lower the stopper but I would take that back to whoever installed it and said it was the best fitment they ever seen.\
Is that an M5 bumper? Overall I wouldn't say the fitment is spot on. You do not seem to have an original panels to compare the fitment to. Take a stock car, swap the hood and truck and adjust it to actually fit and compare. I can't see any body panels on the car that actually look right?

I snickered when I noticed it I see what you're talking about I know its not 100% but like IMO its not absolutely horrendous I can see about going back to the indy and see if they will assist me again. Its almost the same thing with the front bumper, its was pretty flush with everything else until I got it back from the body shop :/ Last edited by Noir; 12-31-2016 at 09:25 AM.. |
