V Neck Undershirts
Probably the dumbest post this year (and its early) but thought I would ask.
I wear dress shirts to work, no tie, top button unbuttoned. Currently I wear Under Armour V neck undershirts. They are slim fit, nice stretch material. No complaints on the material or fit. The problem is the V neck or lack thereof. On some shirts, you can just see the undershirt which drives me nuts. Any suggestions on brands that have a deeper V and are form fitting stretch material? thanks. |

Isn't it illegal for men to wear anything else but Under Armour?

For myself I would classify V-neck shirts as 80th style but its your taste.
Try Amazon.

no man who isn't unbelievably cut can pull that off, so the layers of V's get us every time. In conclusion, white, v. V.

Try Uniqlo Airism. Deeper V, and thinner and cooler than UA. Cheaper too. They also have Heat Tech undershirts for winter wear.

Thank you! My spouse always manages to act surprised when I throw them to the trash as soon as he takes his off. I hate them with passion.

Honestly plain jane hanes does it for me. They get beat up, and nobody truly sees them, so screw it.
The V is deep enough to unbutton the top two(sometimes 3 if i'm feeling frisky) buttons on a collared shirt.

We opened a London office a few years ago and sent one of our NYC guys to run it. Each year his shirts get tighter and tighter to the point where there isn't a single wrinkle or fold on them now. He looks like he needs to change his shirt after a large meal. Seriously though, how the hell do you guys move in those skin-tight shirts!?

My pick for a shallower v-neck to wear on its own goes to H&M surprisingly. They're cheap, come in plenty of colors, and they make my skinny self not look like I'm swimming in it. |

Yeah I'm a 17" neck so I have to get extra-slim fit shirts otherwise they look like a tent. I used to get bespoke shirts but the collars and cuffs would shrink very quickly. Now I just get Charles Tyrwhitt shirts because they're cheap and fit nicely.

Hanes V-neck are my go-to under shirt. They are inexpensive, lightweight, the v is deep enough to unbutton and not worry about seeing the undershirt, and after one washing the shirts shrink down to a slim fit without extra material ruining the cut of your dress shirt.

It grosses me out to see someone with a nice shirt on a hot day sweating through it, because they are not wearing a t-shirt .

Maybe it's the USMC in me but I can't stand a baggy dress shirt. Form fitted with shirt stays is how it should be done..

Ultimately, you should not wear a t-shirt under a nice dress shirt. But if you're going to sit in a stuffy office all day long and you MUST have one, then just buy the beater Hanes v-necks. They are $10 for three. Cannot beat it.
