Where to buy interior trim SINGLE PIECES?
Hey all,
Does anyone know where I can buy a center console interior trim panel for an iDrive-equipped 2008 E92 335xi? I've searched online and I've only been able to locate entire kits for all interior panels, which are like $700, but I just need this one piece. It's the center panel that goes over the shift knob, ash tray, and iDrive nav button thing. The finish on it is irrelevant to me as I will be vinyl wrapping it along with all my other interior panels soon. I need this piece as I will be tidying up a bunch of cables for some electronics that will be running from the center console storage area toward the dash (iPod) and don't want to drill into and ruin the OEM panel that already matches the rest. So, if anyone has links to purchase OEM or aftermarket individual trim panels I would really appreciate it. Or, if someone has one to sell, that would be awesome too. Thanks! |

Go to RealOEM.com. Enter your VIN. Go to vehicle trim section. Find Part Number for your center console. Google that #. Buy.

But $200 FOR A PIECE OF PLASTIC? Man, must be a BMW thing. I could find interior panels for my previous car for $4. Not even kidding. Is there a better place to find them maybe used or from a salvage car for way way less? And not new OEM ones? |

No prob. RealOEM is a priceless resource if owning a BMW. Ignore the prices listed there though, usually they're off both ways (lower or higher at a dealer).
I have good luck finding used parts on eBay. Just verify the part number in the listing and you're good to go. FYI all pre-2008 iDrive center consoles are the same no matter what car it's from (except M3 and convertibles).

And they are more than just plastic. They have a metal core with molded plastic around it, plus the wood veneer or aluminum skin on top.

I've found some decent used ones on ebay from reputable sellers but show some pretty obvious signs of wear. Cheapest with shipping I've found so far is $40, and some nicer ones for $100. Definitely better than $200 new though! Quote:
Gotcha; again that just must be the BMW difference. My old car was just molded plastic and couldn't have cost more than 80 cents to make haha |
