Anyone with 9j in the back ?

Hi there,
Got myself style 225's. Front are 8j and rears 9j. I got tires for the front but I am throwing away the run flat tires. Do everyone go with 255/30/19 in the back ? I know the wheel can fit a 265.I want a bit more sidewall since there area a lot of potholes where I live. Does 255/35 or 265/30, or 265/35 sounds a bad idea ?

Depends on the tire but 255 begins to stretch on 9" and wider. I run my 255 on 9" and looks slightly stretched. Same with my 275 on 10". It will be more stretched on 10.5" When you remove the wheel and lay it flat on the ground and is sitting on the rim lip and not the tire that tire is stretched. Here is 255 on 10" and is stretched.

255's vary in width (as do all tires). So one 255 might not be stretched whereas another very well might be.

Exactly what I said in post#3

Garage List
Probably 70% of this forum runs at least 9'' in the rear. A simple search would've yielded numerous results..

I have 18x9" rear c/w PSS 255/40/18. The Rim Rubber Protector sticks out past the wheel. They look good and I have had no issues with this set up.
The PSS seam to be or look wider than most tires.
Recommended Sizes.
8" MIN.215. - IDEAL 225/235. - MAX. 255.
9" MIN.235. - IDEAL 245/255. - MAX. 265.
Comparing Your Original Set Up. Look at Staggered Combo's 225/255 and 235/265 on the Tire Rack Wheel Tech. Section and also Ask Tire Rack more Questions.
Good luck.
