Service Indictor Problem?

My wife has a 07 335 that has about 22000 kms on it.The service indicator was indicating 3500 kms to go at about 19500.At about 20000 kms it suddenly started indicating 20000 kms to go for service. The car is in at the dealer and they indicates that it is 6000kms to go for the sevice which is indicated now. They will not do the service till the car has gone another 6000 kms.Has anybody else had this problem? The dealer says the indicator is working properly but I am having a hard time beleiving it!

my 335D coupe just did this.

when new it had about 20,000 miles to service, as ime and mileage has passed it has been steadily going down.

car hs about 14,500 miles on the clock and all of a sudden it starts showing 10,000 miles to go instead on the 4,000 miles it used to show.

i drive this car hard and have taken it on track for a day (hard useage) so no way do i believe that it has reassesed itself!

done an extra 800 miles and service indicator has stuck at 10,000.

is there a bullitin, and could somebody post it up please so i can explain my problems to the stealers Muppets!

cheers!

Dario

An update on my wifes car.It now has a bit over 22000kms and now the service indicator indicicates 8000 till service.so in a 1000 kms the interval has gone up by 2000 kms.WTF!The driving cycles have not changed,it does not make any sense to me!

I was just about to post the same thing. My car says my engine oil has 11000 miles left and that I don't need an oil change until 2/2010.. WTF? Is this some sort of self adjusting sensor that will just one day tell me I have to get an oil change? I'm used to changing my oil every 3-5k miles..... I've already put on 1k since the last oil change. I refuse to believe this car can last 12,000 miles without an oil change!

The other sensors seem off too... they didn't concern me as much as the oil did but all the indicators tell me this car does not need service until at least 2010! Spark plugs are at 90k miles... I know nothing about spark plugs and never changed them in any new car I've ever owned but that seems a bit high.
